Setting

Woodsy area, possibly destinations include the woodsy area by the school field. Another destination also includes the railway loop line or a park that has a lot of trees around it.

Actors

The  scene  from the narrative  I will be producing will be one that includes a fair bit of running away as this type of acting I think I will be able to create. The scene will open with a long shot of a person running away before it shows a a number of other camera shots including close up and medium shot. This scene shows how the boy aims to escape his captors as he sprints away through the woods the clip will include a close shave where the boy is almost caught by his former captors but he manages to evade them.The scene will become really intense and there will be a lot of tension created via the music coming from the non diegetic music playing, the faint sounds of the main character breathing will be able to be heard over the sound of the music until he has a bag placed over his head from behind. A muffled scream can be heard until the picture fades out to black as it then shows a POV shot of the boy being dragged along the floor

Five Minute Scene-Planning

I have chosen to do a five minute filmed sequence.

I will include a script in my planning to show the actors and the people viewing this blog about the dialogue that will be involved. I will also be creating a storyboard to give people a hint and an idea of what each key parts in the scene will be about and what it will represent. The storyboard will be hand drawn and will give a brief insight as to what will be including during the main parts of the five minute scene. The planning stages will also include things like what setting I will use, actors/actresses lists and props

Synopsis

Set in the early 1990’s, a boy with a simple life in Poland is thrown into a modern day slavery business. He is forced day in day out to carry heavy items to and from cities, with little pay he receives he luckily finds an escape from his hell, he travels miles with just the clothes on his back threw the woods with his capturers hot on his tail. He sees a sign indicating a big city 2 miles away. Its his chance to escape his hell or never be free again. Tired, hungry and weak to the point of insanity he is surviving on pure will alone a constant marathon to which the end is unchartered and unknown. 

The film will be filmed with a lot of medium camera shots, close ups and long distance shots. The setting will be in a woodsy area with a lot of trees as this makes it easy and more believable  that someone could hide there and evade someone. The film will have a dramatic ending where it falls down to his own judgement which will either decide whether he lives safely or stays captured.

This short synopsis is just a a vague idea of the movie plan, the theme of racism as shown in my essay but towards a a minority race. The synopsis may not be the most enticing extract but it still evolves around the theme of racism and in turn Racism has to be touched on very sensitively.

Film Introduction

This is my film studies A2 coursework blog, here I will be posting my coursework in the build up to my final creation of a 5 minute film scene. My coursework is centred around the racism of minorities. This blog will contain things such as storyboards and essays all for the better creation of my final piece.
